Glenn Robert “Bobby Dinker/Hippie” Rotzel, 71, passed away at 11:27 a. m., on Monday, August 2, 2021, at his home in Butler Twp, Salem, OH.
He was born on July 24, 1950, in Salem, the son to his late parents; Warren Glenn and Doris Jean (Dixon) Rotzel. A 1968 graduate of South Range High School. He was nicknamed by his family, “Bobby Dinker”. Glenn became an assemblyman for Triad, a door manufacturing company in North Lima, OH. Following Triad, he was employed at Lyle Print in their Farm and Dairy division. Glenn was a lover of all animals, especially his cat; Oreo. He enjoyed westerns on TV, watching a good smack down with the WWE, and could be found most game days cheering on his Cleveland Browns, in unison with the die hard fans of the “Dawg Pound”...most likely with a Pepsi in his hand. Glenn could often be found at the Drag Strip and he looked forward to topping of his summer by spending time with friends and family at the Canfield Fair. Metal scrapping was a hobby and time spent tinkering in the garden. While Glenn was know by all as a hard worker, he knew how to relax just as hard. Spending time in nature “relaxing with elements of nature” is what earned him the nickname, “Hippie” from his friends.
Glenn is survived by his longtime companion; Rebecca Bingham, siblings; Sandra (Larry) Dearth, Mary Jo (Steve) Farkas, both of Salem, Carroll Rotzel of Niles, OH, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Glenn is preceded in death by his sister; Glenda Rae McCartney.
A private family gathering and viewing was held on Thursday, August 5, 2021. Glenn will be laid to rest at Hope Cemetery in Salem.
Care was entrusted by the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral & Cremation Services of Salem.
