Hope Elizabeth (Williams) Redmond, age 70, went to be home with the Lord on November 10, 2021 at 10:24 PM following complications to COVID. A resident of Canfield, Ohio she has lived in northeast Ohio since her family moved from Enon Valley, Pennsylvania to Damascus, Ohio when she was 8 years old.
She was born October 18, 1951 in Cherry Point, North Carolina (US Military Base) to Arthur Mervin Williams and Mary Margaret (McBride) Williams. She graduated from West Branch Local High School in 1969 and from Kent State University School of Nursing as an RN.
Hope had a long career as a registered nurse as she had a passion working in the health care field beginning at Timken Mercy Medical Center in Canton, Ohio and then on to Hospice of the Valley/Hospice House in Youngstown, until her retirement.
She loved music and enjoyed playing the piano and the flute in the school marching band. She had a passion for riding motorcycles from a young age and loved fast cars.
She had attended the Damascus Friends Church, but most recently attended Victory Christian Center in Boardman. Hope was always busy in Christian Ministry and helped as a bible study teacher in two private ladies groups.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and riding her Honda Shadow. She enjoyed her camper at the lake, riding her bike, swimming and reading her Bible and books.
She was a blessing and comfort to those who knew her, a generous woman who put the needs of others before her own, a woman with deep and abiding faith who never doubted the saving grace of Jesus and rejoiced in the mystery of scripture and music. She was a mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and will be remembered for her sense of humor, her work ethic, and her devotion to her family. She instilled in her children the value of faith in God, family values, and hard work.
Hope will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Gary S. Redmond, whom she married on June 2, 2011, her children; Laura Lynn (Nicholas) Hepburn of Berlin Center, Oh. and Rob Roy (Amanda) Landsberger of Paris, Oh. Her three step-children: Darla (Steve) Farage, Christina Redmond and Gary (Mary Sullivan) Redmond Jr. Her siblings; brothers Sam (Debbie) Williams of Dublin, Ohio, Brian (Sandra) Williams of Lisbon, Ohio., five grandchildren and five step grandchildren. She is a beloved aunt to two generations of nieces and nephews. She was a beloved cousin and friend of many from the Bible study groups who lifted her in prayer over the recent weeks. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, 6 PM at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem. A time of visitation will be held from 4-6 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. The burial will be in Damascus Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Hospice of the Valley.
