Jackson F. Russell 84, of Goshen Twp, Salem, died at 2:25 PM Sunday, July 24, 2022, at Winsor House / St Marys in Columbiana.
He was born in Blackwater, Va., the son of Rufus and Daisy (Garland) Russell.
He worked for 30 years at the GM Lordstown auto assembly plant. He not only was on the line, he helped to solve electrical issues when they came up. In his younger years, he would fish a little bit. His life was work and golf. Jackson was on a league at work and golfed a lot at Salem Hills. Jackson traveled to numerous places to play golf in outings and special events. He was a Club Professional and taught golf to many. Jackson had the equipment needed at home to do custom sets of clubs.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Wilma J. (Brownfield) Russell, his children; Gregory Allen (Winifred) Russell of Leetonia, Kimberly Sue Cross of Salem, Jeffrey Lee (Mindy) Russell of Ft. Myers, Fla., and Steven Wayne (Mandy) Russell of Columbus, and a sister Lorraine Hopson, ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by all his brothers; Tom, Bradley, Bobby Joe and Ray Russell.
Services will be on Friday, July 29, 2022, 11 AM at Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem. The Rev. Byron Bufkin will be officiating. A time of visitation will be one hour prior to the services. The burial will immediately follow at Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Canfield.
