Janice M. Loomis-Woodley, age 79, passed away April 5, 2021 in Salem, OH. She was born March 31, 1942 in Bethlehem, PA.
Jan is a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who leaves behind two grandchildren, Julia (Michael) Finocchi of North Lima, OH and Jason (Nakesha) Oliver of Beaver Falls, PA; five great grandchildren Alexis and Bella Finocchi and Sean, Lucas and Beau Oliver as well as many adored friends.
She is proceeded in death by her only child, her daughter, Stacey Beth Garland and the love of her life, Leonard Nichelson of whom she met and fell in love with while living in California.
Jan spent many years as a beautician and worked retail and eventually found herself at the Oxford House in Salem, OH. Jan (aka Pickle) found her calling as a circuit speaker for AA meetings. Helping others made her the happiest and we know she changed many lives with her experience and speaking's. The Oxford House became her home where she made many friends that became family. She enjoyed painting free hand; she created many beautiful pieces that she often framed for enjoyment. Jan enjoyed gardening and bringing to life beautiful flowers and may we not forget her love for cats who brought her extraordinary joy.
Per Jan’s wishes there will not be any viewing or services. Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services were in charge of the arrangements.
Donations in honor of Jan may be sent to the Oxford house in care of the family recovery center PO Box 464 Lisbon OH 44432, or monetary donations may be made to Julia to cover any costs associated with Jan’s passing.
