Jerry Louis Malone 77, of Akron (formerly from the area), died at 1:07 AM Sunday, February 20, 2022, at Summa Health/Akron City Hospital.
He was born on July 17, 1944, in Canton, Ohio, the son of Austin and Minnie (Chatfield) Malone.
Jerry was a graduate of Steubenville High School, served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, and retired from a driving truck. Jerry was very handy working on engines of all kinds. It was not uncommon to find him working on four-wheelers, motorbikes, cars, and many other small engines. One of his favorite past times was to go fishing. He was a very patient and caring man, did not let things bother him. He loved his whole family unconditionally.
He is survived by his children; Amy Malone-Wright-Hodgins of Hobe Sound, Fla., Jerry (Vanessa Huffman) Malone II of Salem, and Carrie (William Howard) Malone of Akron (with whom he lived) Mary Lou (Houshour) Malone (the mother of Jerry and Carrie) his twin brothers Ron Malone in Florida and Don Malone in N. Carolina, grandchildren; Jerry Malone III, Isyss Johnson, Leyman Malone, Lamar Malone, Amariah Southard-Malone, Darry Wright, Kyle Wright, and Charlie Wright, great-grandchildren; Iris, Penelope, Opal and Wesley, and Mary Lou’s siblings; William (Gayla) Houshour, Ted Houshour, James Houshour, John (Vanessa) Houshour, Robert (Becky) Houshour, Chuck (Karen) Houshour, Raymond Iglehart, Dorothy Neishsleb and Clara Zwick.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings; Donald, Caroline, Berry, and Dick Malone, a great-grandson Evan (Penelope's twin) Kathryne Marie (Donley) Malone (mother of Amy).
There will be no services held at this time.
