Margaret Ann (Toland) Simpson, 91, of Leetonia, Ohio, passed away at 10:20 a. m. on Monday, July 12, 2021, at her home with family nearby.
She was born on October 29, 1929, in Calcutta, Ohio, to her late parents; Willis and Margaret (Snell) Toland.
Margaret attended Leetonia High School. She had been employed as a waitress at the 7/14 Diner outside of Columbiana and Pure Truck Stop in North Lima. She was a former manager at the Arrowhead Bowling Alley in Columbiana and aptly so, as she was on 2-3 bowling leagues and assuredly knew her stuff when it came to bowling. Additionally, she was self-employed as an Avon distributor and sitter. Margaret filled her life with a wide range of activities which kept her very busy. Besides her bowling leagues, she played on card clubs. She was an avid fan of Nascar and for over 30 years she rode motorcycles with her husband. Margaret was a talented seamstress, making clothes for her family and skilled at the art of crocheting. In her later years, she enjoyed watching tv, but when her health was better and permitted her to do so, it was not uncommon for her to walk 3-4 miles a day enjoying the wondrous outdoors. She looked forward to the family gathering together and the meals shared around the dining room table.
Margaret is survived by her children; Jerry (Cindy) Simpson, D. Micheal Simpson both of Leetonia, daughter-in-law; Becky Simpson of Columbiana, 4 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, siblings; William Toland of Lisbon, sisters; Judith Stevens and Rita Tingle both of Columbiana.
In addition to her husband and parents, Margaret is preceded in death by her sons; Dennis Simpson and Joseph Simpson who died at birth, and a sister; Barbara Firestone.
