Michael Ray Burns

Michael Ray Burns, 68, of Salem, passed away Friday night in his home on April 14, 2023.

He was born December 21, 1954, in Salem, son of the late Blaise and Olive “Callie” (Campbell) Burns.

Michael was raised in the Catholic Faith, and lived in Saleneville in his early childhood, then moved to East Liverpool, and graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1974. After graduating he joined and served in the Army for twelve years. Later in life he returned to Salem where became a Salem Firefighter. He lived his life for his children and grandchildren and enjoyed them immensely, he was especially close to his grandchildren Lauryn and Gray.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years Patricia “Patty” (Hagens) Burns, children Michael Burns and Christopher Burns both of Pittsburg, Devon (Dustin) Brown and Kelsi Burns both of Salem, his siblings Robert (Louise) Burns of Alliance, Mary “Doll” Perorazio of East Liverpool, and Joyce Stein of Jeannette, PA, his sister-in-law Linda Burns, as well as 4 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Deloris Sevek and Tom Burns and his brother-in-law Frank Sevek.

There will be a Celebration of Life Gathering on Sunday May 7, 2023, 3 PM at the Salem Amvets Post 45.
