Peggy Ann (Brooks) Berg, 70, of Salem, OH, passed away at 8:15 a.m Saturday, November 28, 2020 at her home following complications to COPD. “As Peggy started her journey our son, Andy was waiting for his mother and took her by the hand as they walked down that Golden Path hand and hand to everlasting life.”

She was born on May 17, 1950 in Salem, the daughter of the late Herbert and Irene (McDonald) Brooks.

Peggy was a 1968 graduate of Leetonia High School and attended Kent State University studying in the field of social work. Peggy was last employed in the Lisbon office of MCTA

She married her husband, Richard “Rick” on June 18, 1971 and this summer celebrated 49 years together.

Along with her husband, she is survived by a son; Richard “Rich” (Julie) Berg, 4 grandchildren; Cade, Evan, Drew, and Allan. In addition, she is survived by her siblings Beverly Griffith of Salem, Donna (John) Buffone, Bette Getz, David (Pam) Brooks all of Leetonia, Glenna (Kevin) Flick of Petersburg and her daughter-in-law Angel Shafer of Salem.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son; Andrew Berg, brothers; Frank, Ronnie, Keith, Richard, and Darryl Brooks, a sister; Marlene White and 2 infant siblings.

A time of visitation will be from 10-11 a.m on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral & Cremation Services in Salem. Services will follow at 11 a.m with Pastor Cyndi Midlick officiating. Peggy will be laid to rest in Hope Cemetery in Salem.

The family has requested any donations made in Peggy’s honor go to the charity or organization of donors choosing.
