Ralph "Butch" Sherman Heverly, 72, of Salem, died at 12:48 PM Thursday, January 12, 2023 at his daughter's home in Salem.
He was born December 14, 1950, in Alliance, OH, son of the late Morgan Shawn and Donna Jean (Shepard) Heverly.
“Butch” was a Vietnam era veteran serving in the USMC from 1970-1972, he received multiple medals including a National Defense Service Medal.
Ralph worked for 38 years at Eljer Manufacturing. Over those years he and his family would look forward to the company picnics at Geauga Lake during the summer months. He was also fond of fishing and chopping wood. Butch was a handy guy and could be found wrenching on cars from time to time. Following his retirement he enjoyed relaxing on his back porch and sipping his favorite beer, Budweiser.
He is survived by his children, Tina Marie (Jeffrey) Culp of Salem, James Lawrence Heverly of Salem, Amanda Sue (David) Lotze of Salem, Jeffery Morgan (Julie) Heverly of Leetonia, and Michael Stanley Heverly of Salem, his siblings, Julie Marie Heverly of Salem, Crystal Jean Boso of Leetonia, William Grant (Collean) Heverly of Leetonia, Doreen Ellen Heverly of Salem, and Perry Dean (Sanndra) Heverly of Leetonia, as well as 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by a grandchild.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services of Salem.
