Richard L. Huffman

Richard L. Huffman 77, of Salem, died at 4:45 AM Friday, March 25, 2022, at Columbus Alzheimers Care, Columbus, Ohio.

He was born in Salem on June 3, 1944, to the late Dorrance Maurice and Helen Babe (Green) Huffman.

Richard has been a lifetime area resident and a 1962 graduate of Salem High School. He started at a young age working as a caddy at Tippecanoe Golf Club. He worked hard as well as learned the game so well, he went semi-pro and taught golf. He was also employed by Steffan Mfg. In Salem. One of the many projects he did there was manufacturing parts they took up for the construction of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. In his later years, he spent time doing janitorial work at Salem High School.

Richard had a true click of friends he stuck close with over the years. There was always time to socialize at the Italian-American Club, Salem VFW, Eagles Club, and being a member and attending Salem UCT# 590 functions. Richard also enjoyed a good game of pool, going bowling, big into putt putt golf, and went to many of the national golfing events for the Eagles. All types of sporting events were of interest to him but he like to follow the Indians, Browns, and OSU.

He will always be remembered for that top-notch sense of humor by his children; Genevieve (Kristian) Hughes of Hampton, Va., Richard M. Huffman of Columbus, Ohio, and Chris (Tiffany) Huffman of Mechanicsburg, Pa., siblings; William (Virginia) Huffman of N. Jersey, and Linda Huffman of Lisbon, grandchildren; Annie, Molly, Patrick, and Thomas Hughes, Zane Huffman, Hannah, Stone, and Griffin Huffman, sister-in-law; Pam Hamilton, nieces, and nephews; Stephen L. (Crystal) Bledsoe, Patrick (Sierra) Hamilton, Michele Seaman, Brenda Seaman, Jeff (Kristy) Seaman, Matthew (Elaine) Seaman, Johnny, Mary, and Michael Huffman, Dave Huffman Jr., Johnny Carlariello, Cindy (Chris) Hanson, Louis (Christina) Huffman and Diana Huffman.

In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death on October 14, 2020, his wife Annie Theresa (Hamilton) Huffman whom he married on August 3, 1966, and siblings Dave J. Huffman and Beverly (John) Carlariello, Annie’s siblings Thomas Hamilton, Molly B. (Stephen) Bledsoe, and John Hamilton, nephews; Timothy Hamilton and Ralph Seaman Jr.

Services will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at 1 PM, at Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, with the Rev. Bruce Irwin officiating. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the services. The burial will follow the next day, where he will be laid to rest with family and relatives in St. Joseph Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio.
