Steven Peppel Obituary

Steven Forrest Peppel, 73 of Salem passed away at 10:40 a.m. on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Salem Regional Medical Center in Salem.

He was born on April 18, 1948 in Salem to his parents, the late Forrest and Dorothy (Shears) Peppel.

Steven was a 1966 graduate of West Branch High School. He was a member of the United States Navy and served his country during the Vietnam War. Steven had a wide array of activities that kept him busy. He was a collector of trains and liked to fly remote controlled helicopters. He enjoyed fishing, playing pool and spending time on the golf course. In fact, he became quite talented as a one handed golfer after an earlier accident left the use of his arm limited. Steven was just as fond of going to the Car Shows as he was about “wrenching on cars”. He was especially partial to sports cars. At one time owning the GT6 Triumph and a 1970’s Triumph Spit Fire. Steven was a fun loving and colorful man. If you were to ask him what his favorite things to do were, he would say cussing and giving people a hard time. To those who knew him well, they surely would agree, all with a smile on their faces. Steven will be dearly missed.

Steven is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Laura “Lori” Peppel of Daytona Beach, FL, along with a nephew and niece.

Visitation will be on Friday, August 13, 2021, from 6:00 p. m. - 7:00 p. m., with services to follow at 7:00 p. m. with honors given by the Salem Honor Guard.

Care was entrusted to the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral & Cremation Services of Salem.
